Project Update – Spences Bridge

Quattro Constructors is making great progress on our Highway 8 reconstruction project! This important project has reached a milestone of connecting the two road ends, reinstating travel across and allowing local and Indigenous people to get back home after the disastrous Atmospheric Flood event. Recently the Crew have completed a new 85m bridge across the Nicola River, construction of MSE (mechanically stabilized earth) wall, river diversion and re-alignment to enable road construction, as well as ongoing mass haulage operations from our onsite quarry for rip rap armouring, embankment, and surfacing construction. Through this work Quattro has proudly provided 13,140 hours of Indigenous employment, equating to 30% of our work hours as well as providing direct community revenues and training through our partnership with Cook’s Ferry Indian Band.

We recognize our part in the TRC Calls to Action, and Quattro will take pause on Sept 30th to honor the Indigenous children and families to create awareness of the ongoing tragic legacy of residential schools on the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
