Project Manager

Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct and oversee project activities, ensuring schedule and budget compliance.
  • Review project plans, staffing requirements, and resource allocation for effective project execution.
  • Ensure comprehensive understanding of project documents and anticipate needs to prevent delays.
  • Modify schedules and prepare project reports as necessary.
  • Provide strong safety leadership and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Manage subcontractor agreements, billing, and maintain cost codes while fostering positive relations and upholding company values.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field;
  • 6 years related experience and/or training;
  • Construction, Design, Finance, and Management experience required;
  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification preferred;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Required Company or Regulatory Certifications; and
  • Required Company Safety Certifications.
Sr. Project Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Subcontractor and Supplier Management: Oversee subcontract administration and supplier interactions, including issuing change orders, pay sheets, and service agreements as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Coordination and Technical Support: Coordinate requirements and progress with Structural Design Engineers and other consultants, providing technical support and determining the need for outside assistance.
  • Safety and Relationship Building: Attend safety meetings, develop good working relationships with owners, subcontractors, and field personnel, and enforce company safety policies.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and manage submittals and RFIs, update and maintain project schedules, and participate in project close-out reports, maintaining documentation for claims resolution.
  • Cost and Quantity Tracking: Track quantities for payment and cost purposes, code daily labor and expenses, and perform weekly quantity input, ensuring accurate tracking in the cost system.
  • Material Management and Job Duties Assistance: Manage permanent material acquisition, assist Field Engineers with job duties, and review critical picks, maintaining project documentation and as-built drawings.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years construction
    engineering experience and/or training; or
  • 8 years construction engineering related experience and/or training; and 
  • Resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction
    technology, process systems and/or structures experience is preferred.
  • Required Company or Regulatory Certifications; and 
  • Required Company HSE Certifications.
Project Administrator

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in understanding and conveying information to ensure clear and efficient communication throughout projects. This skill is crucial in maintaining productive interactions with various stakeholders, including clients, employees, and management.
  • Adept at identifying and addressing issues by systematically gathering and analyzing data. This ability plays a vital role in resolving project-related challenges and proposing well-informed solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Skillful in efficiently processing and maintaining a wide range of project-related documents. This capability ensures organized record-keeping, facilitating easy access to critical information when needed.
  • Capable of providing comprehensive assistance in various project-related tasks, such as billing, procurement, and reporting. This support streamlines project management processes, contributing to successful project outcomes.
  • Knowledgeable in handling safety documents, conducting inspections, and managing incident reports. This expertise ensures a safe working environment, as well as compliance with safety regulations, ultimately protecting the well-being of all project stakeholders.
  • Proficient in offering support to senior management when necessary. This assistance extends beyond project-related tasks and encompasses various non-project-related responsibilities that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization.

What You Bring:

AP Clerk

Responsibilities

  • Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, recording accounts payable data, and reconciling invoices;
  • Track company invoice obligations, make accurate and timely invoice payments, gain approval where necessary, and identify and report inaccuracies and variances;
  • Reconcile and verify all company invoices and monthly statements to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted, assign payments to applicable projects and cost codes;
  • Make and track appropriate sales and use tax payments on invoices as needed;
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances;
  • Generate reports detailing accounts payable status;
  • Reimburse Employees and reconcile Employees’ corporate credit cards by receiving and verifying expense reports using company-specific accounting software;
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions;
  • Work with external vendors to resolve any invoice problems or inaccuracies;
  • Maintain historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques by saving documents properly on the network;
  • Confirm subcontractor billed working hours, bonuses, and projects;
  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures and ensure all accounts payable processes meet applicable compliance guidelines and financial standards;
  • Collaborate within the Project Controls and Accounting Teams;
  • Assist with corporate audit and other financial reporting requirements as needed;

Field Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • A deep grasp of project specifications and budget.
  • Foster strong relationships with Quattro’s internal team, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate and respond to technical inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Assist the Quality Management team in performing and documenting QA/QC procedures.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations for field activities.
  • Conduct general duties such as printing/plotting, transmittal preparation, project tracking, and drawing submissions to clients/contractors.
  • Provide technical and administrative support through all project phases.
  • Create and issue daily construction reports.
  • Assist with scheduling and cost estimate preparation.
  • Attend site meetings and maintain a respectful and professional working relationship with clients.

What You Bring:

  • 1-4 years of experience working on a Construction Site;
  • Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering;
  • Registered with EGBC as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write letters, report writing and presentation skills;
  • Familiarity with Scheduling Software is an asset; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Estimator

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project estimating efforts; Lead and organize the entire estimating process for specific projects. This involves overseeing the collaboration of estimators and the allocation of resources.
  • Review project specifications and scope; Thoroughly examine proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to understand the project’s scope and the contents required for the estimate.
  • Organize and select vendors and subcontractors; Assemble the estimating team, choose appropriate vendors and subcontractors, and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the projects being bid. This includes coordinating the team’s efforts to prepare competitive bids.
  • Incorporate historical data into estimates; Utilize data from past projects, such as purchase orders, subcontractor information, and productivity analysis reports, to refine unit and man-hour estimates, improving accuracy.
  • Consult with stakeholders and monitor changes; Collaborate with clients, vendors, and other individuals to formulate accurate estimates and address any issues. Continuously monitor client addenda and advise the estimating team on changes during the estimation period.
  • Conduct project debriefings and maintain estimating records; After project completion, conduct debriefing sessions with the estimating, engineering, and production teams to evaluate the project’s positive and negative aspects. Maintain a comprehensive record of estimating documents and relevant pricing information for future reference.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years estimating & cost control related experience and/or training;
  • Or 10 years related experience and/or training;
  • Construction, design, finance and management experience required; and
  • Advanced knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.
Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Possess a comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, including the Work Safe BC Worker’s Compensation Act, industry codes, and standards. Effectively apply these requirements to the specific safety standards of the project, ensuring that all employees and trade partners adhere to them.
  • Statistics and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date and accurate safety statistics for the assigned site. Respect reporting deadlines and collaborate with management to identify, develop, and implement corrective actions for any hazardous work conditions or unsafe employee actions.
  • Incident Management: Conduct thorough investigations when incidents occur, employing tools like the Root Cause Analysis Tool to generate high-quality reports. These reports should include recommended corrective actions and a meaningful analysis of the incident.
  • Proactive Safety: Collaborate with field supervision and engineers to create and review essential safety documents such as Job Hazard Analysis, Safe Work Plans, and Site-Specific Safe Work Procedures. Keep track of safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory, ensuring that supplies and materials are restocked as needed.
  • Training and Meetings: Coordinate and deliver safety training tailored to the project’s specific job requirements, including site-specific orientations. Assist with the preparation of safety meetings, incident reviews, and other ad-hoc meetings under the guidance of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager.
  • Emergency Response: Develop a site-specific Emergency Response Plan and oversee incident management. Coordinate annual emergency response drills for critical tasks. Be prepared to fulfill all First Aid Attendant functions and duties when required on the project.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited institution;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years relevant experience and/or training in the construction industry
  • Current OFA 2 or higher certification is as asset
  • COR Internal Auditor is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Required Company or regulatory certifications
  • Required Company safety certifications
  • Computer usage proficiency i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to initiate and/or accept directions
  • Strong leadership and time management skills
Surveyor

Responsibilities:

  • Work Control Support: Provide essential work control lines and elevations, which are crucial for ensuring precise measurements and accurate installation of materials by the field staff. This is essential for maintaining the quality and integrity of the project.
  • Model Building: Construct detailed models and data files that support the layout using GPS and Total Station equipment. These models are instrumental in achieving accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Field Problem Evaluation: Assist in the assessment of potential dimensions and other field-related challenges. This proactive approach helps identify and address issues early in the project, contributing to smoother operations.
  • Precise Layout: Execute layout work with the utmost accuracy, following the specifications provided by the survey manager. This precision is vital for the correct installation of materials and structures.
  • As-Built Checking: Conduct thorough checks of as-built conditions, applying advanced surveying techniques when necessary. This step ensures that the project aligns with the planned design and specifications.
  • Survey and Calculation: Perform topographic and cross-section surveys as needed for project planning and quantity calculations. Additionally, maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s values and strategic plan, and support published corporate policies. Be prepared to take on additional assignments as directed by management, contributing to the overall success of the project.

What You Bring:

  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in  Geometrics;
  • 5 years of Heavy Construction Surveying Experience and/or Training;
  • Construction, Design, and Finance Experience required;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Required Company or Regulatory Certifications; and
  • Required Company Safety Certifications.
Civil Foreman

Responsibilities:

  • Plan Interpretation: Read, understand, and interpret complex plans and specifications, which are the blueprints for construction projects. This is essential for ensuring that the project is carried out according to the precise design and requirements.
  • Layout Coordination: Plan and coordinate layout requirements for assigned scopes of work. This involves organizing the groundwork and positioning of materials to facilitate the construction process, ensuring that everything aligns accurately.
  • Grade Measurement: Skillfully shoot grades for pipes and trenches. Accurate grade measurement is crucial for ensuring that the constructed infrastructure is level and in compliance with design specifications.
  • Material Estimation: Perform quantity take-offs to estimate the material needs for the project. This includes calculating the required quantities of materials such as pipes, gravel, and excavation/fill, contributing to efficient resource management.
  • Production Planning: Have a comprehensive understanding of the production schedule. Identify crew and equipment requirements, calculate production rates, and direct the work of the assigned crew to meet project timelines.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a strong commitment to safety and ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures for both craft personnel and subcontractors. Supervise, mentor, and coach craft personnel regarding company policies and work requirements. Support and present safety topics when required.

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • 5 years Experience and/or Training in the Construction Industry;
  • Familiar with GPS software (Trimble/Topcon) and Dual Plane Laser Grades;
  • Valid Driver’s License; and
  • Advanced Knowledge of Tool & Equipment Safety.
