The project involved the rehabilitation and replacement of critical access infrastructure across five remote sites, aimed at improving safety, environmental stability, and long-term usability.
The work included the removal and replacement of multiple trail crossings and bridges, danger tree assessments and removals, and the restoration of trail sections impacted by landslides.
Key components completed include the installation of Corduroy Log Fill and Cedar Log Stringer crossings, full replacement of the Mark Creek Bridge, and construction of a new trail alignment in the landslide-affected area.
Quattro Constructors carried out the reconstruction of the Hayward Lake Railway & Reservoir hiking trails by removing and replacing multiple crossings and bridges—both steel girder and timber—using a combination of on-site and supplied materials.
Quattro performed backfilling, compacting, grading, culvert installations, tree felling, and installed log crossings, Flex MSE Bags, and erosion protection mats. The team followed site-specific fire and spill prevention and response plans to ensure safety and environmental compliance throughout the project. Quattro also managed quality control, coordinated with design consultants, and prepared and submitted all required fabrication and record drawings for BC Hydro’s approval, ensuring the project was completed within the scheduled duration.
